20 Days of Peach: Day 10… It’s Either Now or Never

March 10, 2020

Right now, I feel this intense energy needing me to move forward. Move forward with urgency in the things that inspire me. Move forward in pursuing my dreams with more discipline. There is this subtle voice in my head like “come on, Peach…we don’t have time, it’s either now or never”. My inner voice is on that 8 Mile…”palms sweaty, knees weak, arm’s heavy, mom’s spaghetti” type energy.

Every day, I watch people give up on their dreams. People stop believing in themselves. Watching people give up on their dreams is a trigger for me, like a strategic call to action from God to keep me focused. Sometimes I wonder, what happens in the moment when people are like “fawk these dreams, I’ll be content with my life as is”. Please be clear, I’m not saying we shouldn’t appreciate the space in life we are in.

But I am saying, there is a pivotal moment where you go for what you want or become enslaved to what other’s want for you. I feel like me and many other people are in this moment. Many of us are choosing to progress towards our dreams but the journey gets hard.

Look, if you have a dream go after it. No matter how big or how small the dream may be. No matter what age you are. The chances are high that your dream is connected to your purpose. The world can condition us into believing our dreams don’t matter. Our dreams do matter! Stop giving up on yourself. Many of our dreams are constructed to help people.

Now, if you’re working on a dream but haven’t seen any progress… keep going. When you know, the dream is a part of your purpose, you must move forward in the pursuit. I know the pursuit is tiring. The pursuit can be thankless, but I promise you one day the dream will manifest.

Not sure who needs to here this but…keep going!

Until Next Time…

20 Days of Peach: Day Seven… The Bali Way

March 7, 2020

The Bali way. I’m not certain if the “Bali way” is an actual term. The Bali way was a phrase me and my cousins started using to define our travel experience. When we would talk with the locals we noticed them referencing the Bali way. The Bali way is a lifestyle. The Bali way implies…challenges will occur, how we respond to those challenges is up to the us. According to the Bali way,

  • Challenges come and go:
    • Enjoy life
    • Have fun
    • Be happy
    • Don’t think so much
    • Love those around you
    • Do things from a space of love
    • Go with the flow of life

I believe the Bali way is reflective of the Balinese people, culture, customs, and religion. Balinese people respect what is dark, light, and in between. To be respective of everything dark, light, and in between is to have an expanded awareness of life. Balinese people understand what life is in the spiritual and physical dimensions. Because of this… Balinese people have adopted the art of worrying less and taking life as it comes. Balinese people walk/talk what they believe and practice.

In my time spent in Bali I can confirm, Bali people are the nicest. Even when challenges occurred they still operated from a space of love and went with the flow. Since being home from Bali, I have been trying to incorporate the Bali way. Prior to going to Bali, I had an understanding about energy and what I allow into my vibration. Yet, the Bali way affirmed the practices I need to continue implementing.

Considering the Bali way, I invite everyone to incorporate this way of being.

Until Next Time…

2009-2019: 10 Year Challenge

December 16, 2019

10 years! Where has the time gone. As we close out on this decade, I wanted to reflect. A lot has changed for me beyond the physical (lol). In 10 years, I’ve bloomed into myself. I am thankful for the woman I have become (disclaimer: I am still blooming). When I think about my life over the past decade, the journey has been interesting.

Looking at pictures from 10 years ago, I don’t even recognize myself. In 2009, I was afraid of entering the “real world”. I was a college senior in undergrad. Didn’t have a real job lined up. Didn’t know my purpose. Choose to be in a toxic relationship. I was a mess!

God knew my heart. In God knowing my heart, he slowly but surely started eliminating things and people from my life. The quarter life crisis was very real! I didn’t understand why everything was happening. I now realize everything happened for my greater good.

If I could tell the 2009 me about the 2019 me I would say…

  • To find your true purpose you will go on a journey.
  • Believe in yourself!
  • The creative ideas you have, work on them and stay consistent.
  • Stop allowing other people to control your life.
  • Stop waiting to see a therapist.
  • You are going to be a teacher, this was never a career goal of yours.
  • When people show you who they are believe them, stop giving people second chances.
  • It’s okay to be alone, you need to be alone to grow.
  • The things that matter to you know will not matter in the future.
  • The Saturn Return is a real thing.
  • You will become more spiritual, just embrace it!

From my 10-year growth, I proud of myself. TBH…I’m just getting start with life. I think 10 year challenges only become bothersome when people realize they haven’t done much with their life. If that’s you, don’t be that person. Change what you don’t like. Don’t wait till 2020 to start making changes. Start today!

Until Next Time…

Creative Woes

November 25, 2019

I’m a creative being. As a creative, I am in this space of wanting to solely focus on my creative projects. Basically, be a creative entrepreneur fulltime. Get paid to be me!

This year, I have made more professional progress by investing in my creative projects, than I have at my 9-5 job. To be a creative is a complex cycle. My 9-5 does not feed my creative soul. I don’t have to be creative at my job. I am blessed that my 9-5 provides me with lodging, transportation, food, and travel…but I’m struggling! I feel like I don’t have enough time to be creative. Between work, dissertation writing, and self-care my time is spread thin. I squeeze in time during most days to work on creative projects.

I’m frustrated, but very aware my current experience is a minor caveat to the bigger picture. My frustration comes from knowing what I am supposed to be doing but having limited time to do it. For the creatives out there…when did you know it was time to let go over a 9-5?  Or how did you maintain your 9-5 while pursuing creative endeavors?

Until next time,

-Peach

Quotes and Notes #5

November 14, 2019

For a long time, I perceived challenges as something to be anxious about. The anxious energy was me assuming everything was not going to be okay. Overtime something switched. I began to realize I was anxious because, I was trying to control the challenge. I now know challenges are beyond my control. It is what it is. I can’t change the challenge, but I can change the energy I give to the challenge. Taking on a “is what it is” mindset helped me to relax about occurring challenges. It’s not to say that I don’t care about challenges, but I do care about what my body intakes on a mental-spiritual level. I can’t afford to exhaust myself mentally and spiritually, that’s expensive currency!

There is nothing I can do to control the circumstances of a challenge. The only thing I can control is how I respond. Before I respond, I question if the challenge is worth exerting my energy, knowing the challenge will quickly fade. Challenges appear as an attempt to teach a lesson and measure growth. If I am consciously aware and tapped into my “God Body”, I inner-stand everything is working for my greater good. With every challenge, there is a blessing. Case in point when I lost a committee member for my dissertation committee, I was BIG MAD! In my panic, I assumed worst case scenarios about by doctoral program. Feeling triggered, I checked my energy and made peace with the situation. It is what it is! In return, I found a new committee member who made the process much more fluid.

Me being at ease about challenges is not to say that I am a calmness guru. However, it is to say that when a challenge comes up, it triggers my anxiety to respond abruptly. To counter act the trigger I mindfully question myself about the challenge to re-ground myself. Lord’s knows it’s a process for me, but everything is working for greater good.

Let’s chat below…when it comes to challenges how do you go about overcoming them?

Until Next Time,

DOCTORAL LIFE

October 12, 2017

It’s been a while since I felt like writing. Truth be told the only, the only written work I have done has been towards my dissertation. Today is the official day! The official day that I can now say that I only have two months until graduation. Two months away from change the title of my name.

Yesterday after having a conversation with my committee on changes I needed to make to my dissertation. I began to wonder do I have what it takes to make it to the finish line? The dissertation process is like being blind folded in a maze, stuck in the dark, trying to find the exit successful. And in the maze, I keep channeling my inner Kanye West by asking…HOW SWAY? For every step, I have made in my dissertation moments like yesterday made me feel like I took another 10 steps back.

Feeling defeated, I took a break from studying to binge watch YouTube. To my surprise the universe provided me with the vibrational energy I needed to push through. The MazeLee family posted a YouTube video titled Day in the Life of a Super Mom: Getting A PHD With 6 Kids. Alena Maze is an amazing woman! From watching the tribute video…I felt all of her emotions as she spoke to her professor, spoke about needing to finish her dissertation, and not having enough time. At to that, Maze I would just like to say I feel you! Thank you for providing light and encouragement.

As I ponder on my next plan for dissertation execution, I will continue to trust the process. For those that may feel like giving up today, DON’T!

Until next time…

Colors and Vibes

June 17, 2017

The question I get asked all the time is why do I wear all white? White is the color I choose to where practically everyday. I started transitioning the color into my wardrobe, January of this year. In the rare occasion that I am not wearing white, I will wear a bold up-beat color. When I wear white, the color signifies a deeper spiritual meaning for me. Colors carry energy!

I do my best to make sure the colors I wear attract the type of energy I want to manifest. I finally understand why Lisa Raye has been wearing white for so many years. When I wear white… it signifies a representation of; spiritual enlightenment, connection with my authentic, truth, peace, crown chakra, healing and protection.

The colors we wear reflect our thoughts, emotions, chakra alignments, vibration levels…the list can go on and on. From my experience of wearing darker colors like black, the energy of the color vibrated unwanted energy frequencies. With any color you wear the goal is to wear what works for you. Understanding myself energetically, wearing white is what has been working for me. So when people ask me why do I wear all white?

Because I can…because it makes me feel good. If you are curious to learn more about colors and vibrations, I highly suggest doing some further research. Below is a quick guide on the different vibrations colors carry.

  • Red: Passion-survival-anger
  • Orange: Ambition-creativity
  • Yellow: Intellect-control-comfort-power-happiness
  • Green: Heart-healing-money-nature
  • Blue: Communication-cool-calming-stability
  • Purple: Royalty-power-connection to spirit
  • Black: Absence of light-mystery-dark energy
  • Pink: Heart-love-romance

Until next time…

See You At The Top!

March 29, 2017

To celebrate my 30th birthday I set the intention to hike Camelback Mountain in Phoenix, AZ. What is powerful about setting intentions is that conscious effort is made in manifesting the outcomes we would like to achieve. My intention with the hike was simple…hike to the top of the mountain, be in nature, and have a spiritual experience that was liberating. Turning 30 is a milestone, and I wanted to bring in my 30’s doing an activity that reflected where I am in this present moment. So…I decided to hike!

I opted to complete the hike alone because I needed time to self-reflect and manifest the intentions I set forth. As I started the hike everything was great…the trail wasn’t to rigorous…the weather was just right and the sunrise couldn’t have been more beautiful. However, midway through the hike everything started to change. The incline of the hike got higher, the boulders got tricker, and shit got realer.

I kept asking myself…”who’s idea was it to hike, your’s!”. In the midst of my doubt, I kept hiking. I was determined to make it to the TOP. Interestingly enough, as the hike became more challenging it was a reflection of how life is. When things get hard in life…doubt sets in and the negative self-ego comes out to play. And when we least expect it the universe rises to meet us where we are, if we choose to do our self-work.

When the universe met me where I was, I was feeling defeated on the hiking trail. About to turn back around, I met this beautiful woman. She was a spirit guide sent to me by God.  As I was taking a break to sip water, our eyes connected and the conversation began…

Me: Good morning.

Spirit guide: Good morning.

Spirit guide: What brings you to the mountain?

Me: I wanted to try something different this morning.

Spirit Guide: I believe God brought you to the mountain this morning.

Me: *Looks at the woman with a blank stare*

Spirit Guide: Do you need any thing?

Me: I’m okay.

Spirit Guide: To make the hike easier look at the number marks and stay to the right side of the trail.

Me: Thank you…have a nice day!

Spirit Guide: Have a nice day!

As I continued to rest…the spirit guide hiked up the mountain. 30 minutes later, I see the spirit guide again…

Spirit Guide: How are you doing?

Me: I’m doing okay.

Spirit Guide: Your getting close to the top.

Me: I didn’t know that.

Spirit Guide: I’ll see you at the top!

As I climbed and climbed then more fatigued I become. My fatigue made me think of the many ways the hike was a reflection of my life journey. The hike made me think of…

  • The moments where I felt defeated in life and gave up.
  • Every life challenge I have overcame.
  • Being four classes a way from having the initials Dr. added to my name.
  • People who counted me out in life.
  • All the strength that I have is all I need.

Overwhelmed by my thoughts and physical fatigue, I took another break. I saw my spirit guide again.

Spirit guide: Your extremely close to the top.

Me: Really?

Spirit guide: For you to make it this far up the mountain speaks volumes of your character. You are some type of woman!

Spirit guide: I thought you would have turned around.

Me: I thought I would have turned around too.

Spirit guide: Sometimes all we need in life to make it through any thing is God.

Me: Absolutely!

Spirit guide: Do you mind if I give you a gift?

Me: No, I don’t mind.

Spirit guide: *Reaches in her bag and pulls out a cross necklace*

Spirit guide: To make it through all you need is God, see you at the top!

Me: Thank you!

Needless to say, I made it to the top of the mountain. I didn’t see my spirit guide again, it was like see vanished once she delivered the message I needed to hear. The cross she gave me I carry it with me daily.  The Camelback mountain hike served as a metaphor for not letting anything deter me from the intentions I set for my life. The journey will be challenging but eventually with hard work and perseverance I will make it to my destination. I will make it to the TOP. Making it to the top looks different for every person but it’s possible if we believe.

My intentions set for Camelback mountain manifested beyond what I imagined. I made it to the top of the mountain, was at one with nature, and had a liberating spiritual experience. The phrase see you at the top holds a meaning now. See you at the top!

Until next time…

My Vibrational Match

January 9, 2017

2017 has started off with a bang! In a week, I will be moving to Arizona. Risking everything in my comfort zone for new beginnings. I have lived in Denver, Colorado for majority of my entire life, and now it is time to switch things up. I have no regrets about moving, and know that it is time for me to move. I instinctually felt that it was time for me to leave Colorado five years ago. Avoiding my instincts (something no one should ever do), I was too concerned with what other people wanted me to do, and I could never decide where I wanted to move.

In the mist of trying to plan where I would be moving, I decided to be still. In my stillness, I become more aligned with my authentic self, and the answer to my new location naturally appeared. The process of being still, and being in alignment is what Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith calls vibrational match. I created a vibrational match for the vision I had for my life, and the universe responded in supporting my vision. By the universe supporting my vision, this brought light to what I manifested.

I am excited about the move, and the new career position I will be taking on as a healer/life coach. I may vlog my moving experience but I haven’t decided yet. Mind you…I am moving and starting a new career, while working on my dissertation.

As I write this blog post and think of all the years I felt stuck, I can now speak from a place of liberation. And here’s what I want you to know…

If you feel stuck in life, make an assessment! Assess the areas in life that you would like to grow, and the areas you need to change. It is through the assessment that you will be able to create a vibrational match that authentically reflects your life purpose. Once you are clear on your life purpose, and walk in your life purpose the universe will rise to meet you where you are.

Until next time…
