Where Reality and Inspiration Meet

Yearning to Travel

January 18, 2021

This morning I woke up and felt this instant need to travel. Not domestic travel in the USA, but international travel. International travel is soothing for the soul. With international travel there’s opportunities to meet new people, learn about different cultures, and understand ourselves on a deeper level.

Granted you can get the same opportunities with domestic traveling in the US, but it is something about international travel that hits different. In my urge for international travel I have been feeling nostalgic. I’ve looked at my travel videos and photos and yearn to be on somebody’s beach drinking a sugary cocktail giving rich auntie vibes.

But we are in a whole pandemic! Any yes, I am aware of certain countries being open with travel requirements. My comfort level with international travel during a pandemic has varied with the list of open countries.

For those reading this who are yearning to internationally travel like me…here’s a few things we can do in the meantime while waiting for travel to open back up.

  • Save money for travel expenses.
  • Create your travel destination bucket list.
  • Already have a list…update the list to see if there are new places you would like to visit.
  • Check for travel updates on the country you would like to visit.
  • Get inspired, watch travel vlogs.
  • Be patient. Travel will eventually open back up.
  • Send empathy vibrations. Many counties we yearn to visit make money from tourism, hence their economy has been impacted from travel restrictions. Do know travel restrictions are helping countries with limited medical infrastructure.

As we wait for international travel to completely open, what place are you hoping to visit first?

Protecting My Energy- The First Week of 2021

January 11, 2021

Hey-Heyy beautiful people.

The first week into the new year has been wild! If your unfamiliar with what is going on in America, Google Jan. 7, 2021 and Capitol thuggery. To be honest I have so many thoughts and opinions, but I am more focused on protecting my energy. No time for low vibrations. Protecting my energy is a non-negotiable for me and it should be for you as well. In knowing myself energy protection balances my mental health. I highly encourage everyone to protect their energy.

This past week, I filled my soul with self-care. From meditation to journaling to painting to sitting in the sunlight drinking sparkling water. I cultivated vibes for myself intentionally. Speaking of, I wanted to share some of the digital content the algorithms provided me with which helped me get through the week. I hope these videos below can bring you joy as you protect your energy. Going to into this upcoming week, do whatever you need to protect your energy. Ground yourself. Raise your vibration. Continue to be kind.

Resting until the new year

December 14, 2020

For those who may have missed me last week or wondered where I was… please know I am good! I needed time to rest. When thinking of a blog post to write for last week, I did not want to force myself into writing with no inspiration. Instead, I focused on being more present in the moment and rested. Resting and being present in the moment are December goals of mines.

In preparation for the holidays… my intention is to rest, reflect, and be fully present. That said, I will continue to post regularly scheduled blog posts starting January 4th. During this time, I encourage everyone to rest as well. 2020 has been one hellva a year, and we all deserve time to rest and reset.

See you on January 4, 2021.

Until next time,

-Peach

Eating Vegan during the Holidays

November 30, 2020

This year will mark my first year as being a vegan during the Holidays. The last few years I have been vegetarian, which was easy during the holidays. My method during the holidays was simple…eat the side dishes not the meat.

For this holiday season, not going to lie I have been nervous. As a first-time vegan during the holiday season I didn’t know where to start. So, I researched and did my Googles. I made it through my first vegan Thanksgiving, successfully. My meal was amazing! Shout out to Everythang Vegan for my holiday plate.

For those who might be unsure or nervous about eating plant based during the holidays, I wanted to share some tips on how to best navigate the holiday season.

Vegan holiday eating tips:

  1. Research vegan restaurants where you live. Many vegan restaurants are creating vegan holiday meals for purchase.
  2. Go on Instagram! You’d be surprised how many vegan companies and vendors are on Instagram. I purchased my vegan Thanksgiving meal thanks to Instagram. Also, search vegan hashtags in your city to see what your local vegan community is doing.
  3. Watch YouTube cooking videos. Any meal you want to veganize, there is a 99% chance someone on YouTube has made a tutorial video.
  4. Go to grocery stores with options- Trader joe’s, Sprouts, and Wholefoods have some amazing vegan options for the holiday season.

Eating vegan can be easy during the holiday season, if we set the intention to make it easy. The same holiday meals we enjoy can be done in a meat-less way. As a vegan, there are a ton of options during the holidays. Eat good and be merry!

Also, don’t let people make you feel guilty for your eating choices.

Until next time,

Send Them Grace…

November 23, 2020

Grace is the ability to forgive. Grace is the removal of judging situations. Grace surrenders into not taking the outcome of a situation personal. Grace is the ability to love yourself and others in undesirable moments. The ability to send a person or situation grace speaks to where you are on your healing journey.

Lately, I have shifted into the mindset of sending people and situations grace. In doing so this has cultivated more balance and peace in my life. It is becoming easier for me in situations to not hold on to anger or be spiteful when being wronged. Instead I express the sentiment of “may peace be upon you” and continue moving forward.

Sending people and situations grace in realist terms is the indirect art of not giving a fu*k, while displaying high level of empathy and compassion. The intention in sending grace to others is to…

  • Remove the emotion of our wounded ego.
  • Be in stillness with the situation.
  • Send positive energy to the person or situation we are affected by.

When we are not in a space to send people or situations grace, we become emotionally confined to the outcome. Being confined to the outcome of situations implies we are driven by our ego. In return, our ego will make us feel emotions of anxiety, fear, and hurt blocking us from true moments of happiness.

The reality is that we can’t control people and situations…but we can control our reactions. We can control the types of energy we allow into our vibration. We can control where we invest our energy. Charged up emotions about people and situations is wasted time.

So how do we exactly send people and situations grace…

  1. Let it go! You don’t need to give situations a response, just move on.
  2. Send positive energy/light to the person or situation. People are going through life; we don’t know their situation.
  3. Release the attachment to the situation. Feel your feelings, heal those feelings, and release those feelings.
  4. Express gratitude. Be thankful for the situation which occurred and learn something from it.

This week and future weeks ahead challenge yourself to send people grace in challenging moments.

Until next time,

-Peach

Don’t Forget to Vote!

November 2, 2020

Last Saturday, I voted! My voting experience was simple and easy. It was Saturday evening, I didn’t have any plans. So, I went to go vote. When I got to the voting location there was no line. I walked in, received my ballot. Filled out my ballot…five minutes later I was done. It was that easy! Between today and tomorrow, in case you needed a reminder…here it is… GO VOTE!

Tips to make the voting process easier:

  • Research the voting location.
  • Research every legislator and legislation listed on the practice ballot.
  • Prefill your answers on the practice ballot. Take the practice ballot with you when you go voting.
  • Have your ID ready.
  • Bring a mask, hand sanitizer, and pen.

Why you should vote:

  1. Vote because you have a voice.
  2. Vote for your ancestors who couldn’t.
  3. Vote to hold legislators accountable for what happens in your community.

Until next time…
