Read With Me October

October 5, 2020

Hey Heyy,

For the month of October I am doing a read with me challenge. In this challenge, I am encouraging everyone to read one book of your personal choice. However, in this reading challenge you must read a book that will keep you in high vibration. My book of choice for the reading challenge will be Living In The Light by Shakti Gawin. I discovered the book years ago at a thrift store. I purchased the book and never read it. This past weekend the book resurfaced. I felt an intuitive nudge to read the book…and here we are.

Why a book challenge, Peach? Well, with the interesting times we are living in…why not? We need something to protect our mental health and peace. Books provide a safe haven for protection. Reading high vibration literature about grace, gratitude, and stillness will cultivate the mental protection we need.

Being honest, actively choosing to stay in high vibration amidst the chaos in the world is a challenge. There’s too much going on in the world and social media for that matter. Finding moments to disconnect are essential for self-preservation.

Hope everyone is ready to take on this reading challenge with me.

If you need book recommendations, here are a few:

  1. Living in the Light by Shakti Gawain
  2. Vibrate Higher Daily: Live Your Power by Lalah Delia
  3. Sacred Woman: A Guide to Healing the Feminine Body, Mind, And Spirit by Queen Afua
  4. The Seven Laws of Spiritual Success: A Practical Guide to the Fulfillment of Your Dreams by Deepak Chopra

Until next time,

-Peach

Black Women Continue to Shine Your Light

September 28, 2020

Black women continue to shine your light.

Some folks can’t handle our radiance.

Some try to dim our light.

And even take our lives #BreonnaTaylor.

Black women continue to shine your light.

Even when the world doesn’t protect us.

Even when the world has failed us.

Even when we are dealt an unfair hand.

Know you are an Eve Gene Queen!

Black women continue to shine your light.

Illuminate in your magical melanin.

Tap into your goddess flow.

Protect your sacred energy.

Black women continue to shine your light.

Pour into your own cup.

Love yourself boldly.

Embrace how you feel.

Show up as your unapologetic self.

Black women shine your light!

Until next time,

-Peach

Happy Birthday Mom

September 21, 2020

Hey Heyy,

Beautiful people. For today’s blog post…I wanted to celebrate my Mom. Happy Birthday, Mom. Tomorrow is her birthday, Sept. 22nd. The vibration of number 22 symbolizes balance, power, elegance and grace. If the number 22 was a person it would be my Mom.

Mom where do I even begin…we are very much alike as we are different. She is the yin to my yang. She’s born on the first day of fall. I’m born on the first day of spring. She’s a Virgo. I’m a Pisces. We have a beautiful mother-daughter relationship. I can talk to her about anything, she never judges me. She sees me. She accepts me for who I am.

I am proud I spiritually chose her to be my Mom. Thinking of how wonderful she is and how she has greatly influenced the woman I’m becoming, I could cry tears of joy (Pisces moment). My Mom is so patient, strong, beautiful, and courageous. I’ve seen combat racial injustice in the workplace and win. I’ve seen her open the first Black beauty supply store in Aurora, Colorado with my father. She’s truly amazing!

In honor of celebrating my mom’s birthday, I wanted to share 22 things my Mom has taught me.

  1. Be a good person.
  2. Never do anything half-ass.
  3. Take pride in your job, give it your all.
  4. Be a lady.
  5. Be still.
  6. Take care of others.
  7. Rest if you must but get back up fighting.
  8. There is always a solution to every problem.
  9. No dream is too big.
  10. Strength!
  11. Resilience.
  12. Tap into my inner goddess.
  13. Pay attention to the details.
  14. Stand up for myself.
  15. Give my worries to God.
  16. Ask for help.
  17. Give to others.
  18. Don’t give up on myself.
  19. People cannot mess with an anointed child of God.
  20. A check is always in the mailbox (if you know, you know lol).
  21. Blessings are coming.
  22. She’s my best friend.

I love you Mom. Happy Birthday!

Until next time,

-Peach

Braces Off: Find Solutions and Make Changes

September 14, 2020

For the longest, I was insecure about my smile. In 2019, I decided to do something about it. No longer would I romanticize a beautiful smile on my vision board. I took action! I got ceramic braces. Being an adult in braces hit different. A year and some change later, I finally got my braces off.

Now…I no longer hide my smile. I speak confidently without feeling insecure about my teeth. Interesting how one minor change shifted me into a different mindset.

I’m excited and amazed by my results.

As I continue to embrace my new simile I began thinking…

Why do we stop ourselves from things we want to accomplish? My braces journey re-taught me to go after what I want. In doing so, the universe provided for me. Provided the money. Provided the time to take off work. Provided a quick braces timeline. Provided the confidence I needed to continue leading my purposeful work.

Many of us have things we want to accomplish but stop ourselves. Why is it that we let fear stop us from the things we want? When moments come up and we begin to question what we want to accomplish…we must ask the following questions:

  • Why do I feel like I am not deserving?
  • How much is my worth to me?
  • What limiting beliefs led me to feel like this?
  • What resources do I need to accomplish goal?
  • Am I in alignment to receive these accomplishments?

Look…before 2020 is over, as a collective I encourage everyone to find one small thing to work on and accomplish it. 2020 is a trying year, but don’t let the year end without you working on improving yourself. Release the fear and lean into the universe supporting your desires.

Until next time,

-Peach

Add more Zen to your Week

September 7, 2020

Zen, the art of being peaceful and calm. A staple in Buddhism practices, Zen focuses on eliminating stressors to be fully at ease in the moment. To sustain your mental health, zen practices are necessary for everyday living.

In the climate we live in, peace is vital for your mental health. The omission of peace is detrimental to one’s mental health. As cliche as it may sound, mental health is mental wealth. There’s beauty in slowing down.

By moving too fast, we can develop feelings of needing to do more. We should ask ourselves, what is more exactly? Why do we feel the need to do more? What would happen if we just slowed down.

To mindfully slow down this week…here are five quick ways to add more zen in your life.

  1. Slowly rise in the morning. Take your time. Don’t rush your shower, morning coffee, or getting dressed. Go with the flow. Move at a pace that feels right for you. If you find yourself rushing, ask yourself what are you rushing for?
  2. Mindful breathing. Take moments in your day to stop and breathe. Take deep breaths. Find peace in the stillness that comes with breathing. To take things up a notch you can say what you’re grateful for after each breath.
  3. Catch a sunrise or sunset. Be honest, when’s the last time you caught a sunrise or sunset. Watching a sunrise or sunset creates harmonious energy in slowing down.
  4. Do less in your day. Complete essential activities and tasks, then relax. Deadlines and obligations can be postponed.
  5. Mindset shift. Transition your mind into a zen state. Go with the flow of everything. If challenges occur, be at peace with it. Keeping a zen mindset can change the frequency in the types of energy you attract.

Enjoy your week of zenning out.

Until next time,

-Peach

Protect Black Women

August 24, 2020

Malcolm X was right! The most disrespected and unprotected person in the world is the Black woman. In real time…we’ve seen this in the killing of Breonna Taylor, Megan Thee Stallion shooting, and even with the Black women in our very own families.

Black women need to be protected.

Black women deal with sexism, violence, racism, lower pay wages…you name it. Black women are treated less than and expected to be super heroes!

It’s sad and hurtful. Black women are so caring and devoted. Black women are strong for everyone when they don’t have to be. Black women put the needs of others before theirs. Black women will go to the end of the Earth to protect people they love. The same level of protection and love is often not reacquainted. While Black women are busy protecting everybody else…who’s protecting Black women?

Black women need to be protected.

Here’s how people can do their part to protect Black women…

  1. Stop discrediting a Black woman’s story. If a Black woman tells her truth, don’t devalue what she said. Don’t ask questions as to what she did to play a role in the situation. Listen to her. Believe her!
  2. Be available to give help and protection. If you see a Black woman being harmed don’t just record it on your phone, actually step in and help.
  3. Show empathy and compassion. Stop treating Black women like an afterthought. Show compassion and empathy towards Black women. Black women move the needle forward in the world. Black women deserve all of they’re flowers.

Until next time,

-Peach

Genealogy is Important

August 17, 2020

My grandmother Essie Mae McClure (Doyle) and I

A few years back I began the quest to find out more information about my family history. Recently, I’ve made great progress in my genealogy search. My genealogy searches have been connected to the maternal side of my mother’s family.

The beautiful queen you see pictured above is my grandmother Essie Mae McClure (Doyle). She is my mother’s mom. My grandmother was and still is a strong woman. She had 16 kids. Made it from Birmingham to Chicago. She was the brains and backbone to the many great things my grandfather (on my mother’s side) accomplished.

When my grandmother transitioned over, I was with her when she passed and have been deeply connected to her ever since. With her passing, I always wanted to my grandmother’s family story. Keeping in mind, she transitioned when I was two years old.

Yes, stories have been shared in our family. In Black families there are certain things we just don’t talk about, which needs to stop. Hence, I am the change agent in my family. I disrupt generational patterns to get us in a better space of healing. Back to the stories…not much was shared about her mother/father, her grandparents, her indigenous roots, and need to know family stories. To know her story is to know my family truth.

I’m intrigued to know my history. I’ve always wanted to know where I come from. I’ve always wanted to know who are the ancestors standing behind me, protecting me and guiding me. I just wanted or shall I say needed to know. In my recent searches, I was able to find the exact indigenous tribe my grandmother’s linage was connected to, and have made progress on finding ancestors who may have been enslaved.

The genealogy search is a continuous process. Some times I can find information and sometimes I don’t. Sometimes when doing research I find information that’s overwhelming, which comes with family history. That said, it’s important to know who we are. Knowing who we are and where we come from gives you esteem to keep pushing in life. What I know for sure is when the ancestors are ready for you to find them, they will appear.

My research still continues this is the beginning. Let’s continue the conversation below. For those who are into genealogy how has your search been?

Until next time,

-Peach

Day in a life: High Vibration Living

August 10, 2020

Right now, vibes/vibration is a trending term. On any given day we hear or see people post online about “no negative vibes” and “high vibration”. There’s many resources online about “high vibration”. However, as many of us are expanding our consciousness on high vibration living, it brings up the question…what does an actual day of high vibration look like?

Today, I wanted to share what a typical day can look like in high vibration. The intention of a high vibration day is to complete things/activities which nurture the soul. High vibration days should leave us feeling empowered, enlightened, and in alignment with the best version of ourselves.

Here’s what a high vibration day can look like for me…

As I close out this blog post, it’s important for me to note high vibration living is a choice. By setting intentions at the beginning of the day, we set the tone. We must be mindful in how we go about each day. Be mindful in who we interact with. Be mindful in what we eat/drink. Be mindful about what gets our attention/energy. Everyday won’t be perfect but make the most out of what is. Everyday is not a high vibration day for me and when it is not, I am gentle with myself and allow myself to just be.

Let’s keep the conversation going…in what ways do you have a high vibration day?

Until next time,

-Peach
